Good day news fans! Here’s your round up of news and views this Tuesday morning.
Fashion fans look out – on the 21st September Passion4Fashion is returning to Leeds Town Hall. I went along to this event last year and it was fabulous, and this year looks even better. I heartily recommend attending!
If you fancy a mini-break to our twinned city of Lille, then make sure you check out the East Street Arts site, who are organising a trip to the city to coincide with Fantastic 2012, a festival of arts and more over in France in October.
A little closer to home, tonight is the first We Publish meeting after the summer break down at Dock Street Market at 6pm. While you’re there you could also join in with Yarnia, too! Also on tonight is an event at Wharf Chambers focused on writing, which everyone loves, called Fictions of Every Kind: Revelation. I didn’t know how to describe it so it’s probably best if you just read it yourself.
In a couple of weeks it’s also another one of the fabulous Teapots and Twirls, a teadance with er, dancing and tea, to celebrate Saturdays. Get thee to Eventbrite!
On 13th October make sure you’re ready to be spooked by Sneaky Experience and their Chills in the Chapel event, with a double bill of classic horror films in Left Bank Leeds. Cool!
You know that massive glass and metal dome that’s appearing over Briggate? Well it’s going to be open in March 2013, so you’ve still got a while to wait before you can look at even more shops. More over on the BBC.
Everyone is going sporting crazy, including South Leeds primary schools, who battled it out in a seven-a-side football tournament recently. There’s a great write up on South Leeds Life which will cheer you up no end.
More Olympics news (yay!) as Leeds Daily Photo has a picture of the gold postbox in Rawdon, painted in honour of Paralympic cyclist David Stone. Best idea ever, Royal Mail.
Finally, back to school means starting up some new activities and hobbies, so if you need a great list of crafty places to shop in Leeds, head on over to My Life in Leeds. I’ve worked at two of those places (you have to guess which) although they have missed off the great art supplies shop in Headingley, just round the corner from the Arc and Sainsburys. Can you think of any more?
Have a fabulous day and don’t forget to send us your news in email, tweet or interpretative dance.
